It is common to have your inventory spread out across multiple locations. A winery, for instance, might have inventory at the winery, at one or more tasting rooms, and at a fulfillment warehouse.
With Shopify's Locations feature, you can spread your inventory across multiple locations, and configure your sales channels to use those locations. For instance, your winery's tasting room can use inventory from the Winery location, and your web store can pull from inventory from a warehouse.
Before you start
There are a few important things to consider before turning on this feature. We recommend you first watch this quick video to learn more about Shopify Locations.
After watching the video, follow these steps:
1. Decide if you should convert your current store to track inventory across multiple locations.
2. Understand the effects of converting your store.
3. Then, if you're ready to make the switch, start the process of converting your store.
CAUTION! Converting your store is an irreversible process.
